The Kalbeliya Dance is of the most sensuous dance forms of Rajasthan, performed by the Kalbeliya snake charmers community, the Sapera dancers wear long, black skirts embroidered with silver ribbons. The pace is fast and the rhythm hypnotic.
The Kachi Ghodi is a dance performed on dummy horses. Men in elaborate costumes ride the equally well decorated dummy horses. Holding naked swords, these dancers move rhythmically to the beating of drums and fifes. A singer narrates the exploits of the Bavaria bandits of Shekhawati..
Camp Fires
Temperatures in the desert in winter can drop to about 8c and campfires provide a romantic and comfortable way to spend the evening. If you happen to bump into the Colonel he will entertain you with many charming stories to amuse and take back home.
Pushkar Town and Lake
We are just a short distance from the town centre, home to the famous Brahma Temple, as well as hundreds of other small and ornate temples.
You’ll find quaint market stalls and shops selling a mixture of trinkets, colorful garments, traditional Rajasthan textiles and other souvenirs. There are many roadside eateries and tea stalls where you can relax in a mellow atmosphere and watch the world go by, including many travellers who never left!
